For almost 26 years Anesta has been working at the OM Canada office. As a child mission was a part of her life as her parents were supporters of missionaries and hosted them in their home. While in university she boarded with a lady who hosted monthly OMF meetings in her home. Anesta told her that she was not interested in being a missionary.

God then called Anesta to OM when she was amid transition in her life. The story is one of God moving her out of her comfort zone, opening and closing doors and ensuring that she stayed here. It is also one of God honouring the desires of my life.

During her time with OM she has had the opportunity to work with every department. Currently she is the Partner Ministries Administrator. This involves being administrative support to multiple departments and OM Canada as a whole.

33 years ago, Evert found out about the ship ministry with OM. He soon found himself serving on the Doulos for a 2-year term. He was invited back to the ship for another term. He flew back out to join the Doulos in India. Soon after arriving back on the ship he was summoned to the director’s office. An urgent need had come up at the OM's ship ministry's head office in Germany. Their accountant had given notice, and Evert was asked to consider filling the role.

In 2000, he received a call from the OM office in Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada. The senior accountant was retiring and they were asking if Evert would come back and take his place. It did not take a lot of prayer to accept this role. The bonus of coming back to Canada was that he was able to meet Anesta. Evert and Anesta became one of many couples who met while serving with OM.
