Alongside the Team Leader of OM in Southern Spain, coordinating the short-term programmes, activities and communication with other OM fields, short term programme participants, team members, pastors and ministerial alliances.
OM has a vision to establish vibrant communities of Jesus followers in Spain. Spain is a beautiful country with great spiritual needs. It is estimated that 10 million people in Spain live in communities without any evangelical presence. Many people don’t even have the opportunity to meet someone who follows Jesus.
Spain is a traditionally Catholic country. Around 68 per cent of the population identify as Catholic, yet only 14 per cent regularly attend Mass. Evangelical Christians, of which two-thirds are immigrants, count for around one per cent of the population. This makes Spain one of the least reached countries in Europe.
This city in southern Spain where the OM base is located is the port with the biggest flow of people between Europe and Africa. This has resulted in a city with a lot of cultural diversity, providing an excellent opportunity to learn about both Spanish and Arab cultures.
For this position we are looking for someone who has a passion to coordinate different opportunities and activities for short term programme participants in order to share the good news of Christ with the least-reached in Spain, including equipping them to be effective in their own calling and ministry through their personal gifts during the outreach.
Some of the things you will be doing include planning the weekly schedule for short term outreaches, delegating programme activities, organizing weekly training sessions, organizing activities with ministerial alliances, team members and local churches.
We welcome singles, couples and families with the following attributes:
- A passion to see vibrant communities of Jesus followers established among the least-reached in Spain.
- Flexibility, as the work and types of tasks involved are always subject to change.
- Proactive attitude, willingness to start new activities and try out different ways of reaching and discipling people.
- Ability to work as part of a team and under the leadership.
- Excellent communication, leadership, relationship building and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving aptitude.
- A strong desire to share Jesus’ love and the gospel with people.
- Training experience
- Cross-cultural ministry experience
- Able to work with deadlines or under pressure
Please note: This is a non-salaried position. Members need to raise funds and support in partnerships with friends, family and churches.
