We are looking for Secondary School Maths Teacher who has a heart for the lost
Key Responsibilities
-Teaching secondary mathematics on a full-time/part-time basis, including lesson planning and preparation, planning and marking assessments, and recording and reporting on the achievements of each student in their care.
-Teaching according to the educational needs, abilities, and achievements of the individual students and groups of students.
-Promoting the general progress and well-being of individual students, groups of students, or class entrusted to him/her.
-Providing guidance and advice to students on educational and social matters and on their further education and future careers; providing information on sources of more expert advice.
-Providing cover for absent teachers and/or study hall as requested by the Head of School, Principal, or Leave Coordinator.
-Reviewing and evaluating one's own teaching and learning strategies, methodology, and programme/s with a view to improving practice and the learning experiences for students.
-Maintaining good order and discipline amongst students under one's care and safeguarding their health and safety at all times.
-Monitoring the attendance of students under one's care.
-Being responsible for keeping the classroom a neat, welcoming, and stimulating environment for the students.
-With the Head of School, assessing delivery of the scope and sequence of the core subjects for your class.
-Serving as a homeroom teacher.
-Participating in school camps as required.
-Consulting with and guiding parents as they may request specific to their own child.
-Participating actively in team and faculty meetings with a view to share instructional approaches.
-Ensuring high standards of professional practice and quality of teaching and learning of the subject/s. Through effective dialogue, participating in reciprocal peer review and observation of class teaching practice with the Head of School.
-Participating in training courses as well as in continuing professional development opportunities, and when applicable taking part in action research exercises.
-Ensuring the safe custody and optimum use of equipment normally used during lessons and see to its regular servicing and maintenance.
-Participating in school assemblies, sporting events, parents’ evenings, productions, and other special events that may fall outside of normal school hours.
-Any cognate duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Head of School.
-Connect with local and start a small group outside of school working hours
Requirements
-Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Education specialising in Mathematics OR a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field PLUS a Postgraduate Certificate of Education (or similar).
