Field Personnel Officer

Position: Field Personnel Officer
Location: Kristiansand, Norway
Commitment: Full time or part time
About the Role: As a Field Personnel Officer, you will welcome people to be a part of what God is doing in OM, helping them find their place and care for them as they live out God’s mission. You will be the key link between candidates, sending offices, and the mission field. Your main responsibility is to oversee and guide the entire placement process—from initial inquiry to arrival and beyond. You will ensure clear, detailed, and timely communication, helping candidates find their place in God’s mission and supporting them throughout their journey.
In addition, you will be able to engage in reaching the least reached through our local ministry in OM Norway. Besides being a sending field, OM Norway is now deeply involved in reaching out to immigrants and refugees living in Norway. Weekly activity for our team involved teaching Norwegian in our language school (three days a week) language cafés separate for men and women, Discovery Bible Studies and prayer meetings. Every year we arrange a free Children’s Camp for the local kids, and every month we have a gathering of Muslim families in our homes. We are in a pioneering work of church planting, always seeking new ways of reaching out to the community.
Key responsibilities:
· Coordinate the candidate placement process with accuracy and care.
· Oversee the collection and distribution of key information regarding missionary opportunities, including dates, costs, commitment length, medical insurance, available ministries, and pre-requirements
· Communicate effectively with candidates, sending offices, and local teams.
· Provide guidance and support to candidates before, during, and after their assignment.
· Ensure proper record management using Microsoft D365, Caleb.
· Stay informed and ensure the team is knowledgeable about visas, medical insurance, invitation letters (for Consulates or Embassies), financial support structures, and required forms.
· Uphold high standards of confidentiality, discretion, and emotional intelligence when dealing with people and sensitive information.
· Maintain organized records and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
Qualifications:
· Strong organizational and administrative skills.
· Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
· Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional languages are an asset.
· Ability to work well in a team and cross-culturally.
· A heart for missions and a desire to see vibrant communities of Jesus followers among the least reached.
· Ability to engage with different denominations.
· Strong leadership and team management abilities.
· Emotional intelligence and adaptability in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently.
· Willingness to raise personal support or secure funding for the role.

· Have an intimate relationship with Jesus.
· Are willing to learn Norwegian.
· Are committed to serve for at least two years in this role.
