Event Photographer

Do you love capturing real moments and telling stories through images? OM Norway is looking for an Event Photographer to document what God is doing through our local outreaches, events, and gatherings, and to build a strong photo library we can use to mobilise prayer, support, and participation in mission.

Role details

Part time, Norway-based with flexible hours around events. Some evenings/weekends. Commitment 1-2 years (or by agreement).

About the role

As Event Photographer, you will attend key moments in OM Norway’s ministry - language school, language cafes, local outreach activities, cookery/food clubs, holiday camps, church visits, and special events - and deliver clear, warm, high-quality photo coverage. You will also help curate a growing photo resource that can be used again and again in presentations, campaigns, newsletters, websites, and OM international communications.

Local ministry involvement

In addition, you will be able to engage in our local ministry in OM Norway. Besides being a sending field, OM Norway is now deeply involved in reaching out to immigrants and refugees living in Norway. Weekly activities for our team involve teaching Norwegian in our language school (three days a week), language cafes separate for men and women, Discovery Bible Studies and prayer meetings. Every year we arrange a free Children’s Camp for local kids, and every month we have a gathering of Muslim families in our homes. We are in a pioneering work of church planting, always seeking new ways of reaching out to the community.

Key responsibilities

· Photograph OM Norway events and ministry activities (planned and occasional short-notice needs).

· Capture a mix of candid moments, portraits, group shots, and environmental details (including food and activities).

· Edit and deliver photos in agreed formats and timelines; provide both web-ready and high-resolution files.

· Tag, organise, and archive images so the team can easily find and reuse them (with clear folder structure and naming).

· Help build an international-ready library of photos that reflect OM Norway’s ministry, people, and the landscape of Norway.

· Work respectfully with vulnerable communities; follow consent and safeguarding guidance and protect confidentiality.

· Coordinate with the Communications Manager and Field Leader on priorities, permissions, and story angles.

Qualifications

· Experience in event photography (professional or strong volunteer portfolio).

· Confidence with camera settings, composition, and working in varied light and indoor settings.

· Competence in basic photo editing and export (e.g., Lightroom, Photoshop, or similar).

· Ability to work discreetly, build trust, and communicate warmly with people from different backgrounds.

· Good organisational skills: file management, backups, and consistent delivery.

· Fluent in English; Norwegian is an advantage (or willingness to learn).

· Willingness to travel locally within Norway as needed.

· A personal commitment to follow OM’s values and safeguarding practices.
