This is an opportunity to reach pilgrims walking to Santiago de Compostela, be inspired about sports ministry and participate in Tikva in the evenings

Purpose

To reach pilgrims that are walking along the Camino de Compostela and learn more about sports ministry

What to Expect

Every year about half a million people walk this ancient pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela and these days many people are walking in search of ‘something’. Direction in life, processing life events or searching for God are but a few examples. It is also considered to be one of the most open areas in Europe to share the gospel, as most pilgrims are more open to listen, discuss and reflect while on the Camino.

During the Camino outreach you will meet pilgrims where they are and speak Truth into their life. You will have opportunities to share your testimony, faith in Jesus and the gospel to the pilgrims along the way.

When you sign up for this sports-based outreach you can choose between two options:
1. You will be based and staying in an albergue right on the Camino de Santiago in Os Muiños and you will reach out to pilgrims walking by and coming into the albergue. In the evenings there may be opportunities to play and lead sport activities including Tikva sessions in the nearby town.

2. You will walk about 100 km of the Camino de Santiago and reach out to pilgrims that you meet along the way and in the albergue’s where you stay during the walk. We will also lead Tikva stretch & relax while at the albergue in the evenings as a form of restoration after walking and as an outreach opportunity.

This outreach is also for those who have questions about sports ministry and sports as mission. We will have conversations about sport as worship of God.
