More Information:
• You will manage, support and equip the team members of the ICT team;
• You will oversee the set-up of the ICT infrastructure and ensure that the network, hardware and software are all installed to specification;
• You will ensure that users (all crew members) have active user accounts and are given the necessary permissions based on departmental needs and requirements;
• You will ensure that crew members are informed about ICT guidelines and follow the proper ICT security policies;
• You will ensure that all ICT security and software systems on board are safe and regularly updated, and that crew members use the network and personal devices appropriately;
• You will provide the necessary ICT support for all crew members and departments;
• You will ensure that an adequate disaster recovery plan is in place, regularly tested, and implemented in case of unexpected damage or data loss;
• You will liaise with other departments to ensure ICT systems meet their needs and work with them on future developments;
• You will oversee and manage ICT projects and contribute to the development and improvement of the ship’s ICT systems;
• You will ensure that schedules are created for the team members, including work, off, and ministry days.
Requirements:
• You will regularly be dealing with people and will need to be patient, friendly and approachable to them.
• You are a good team player, willing to help one another and share information freely.
• Flexibility, particularly around working hours, will be essential. Appreciating the urgency of a job and the priorities that may need to be altered is very important.
• You are well acquainted with the Microsoft Windows operating system, ideally multiple versions. A significant bonus is experience of networking or the Windows Server architecture.
• You are able to follow policies and procedures precisely and recognise any changes that may have an impact outside of your particular task.
