The Bookfair Department Head plays a key leadership role at the heart of Logos Hope’s ministry. You’ll oversee an international volunteer team, manage
Responsibilities and tasks:
• Manage and support the Team Members, volunteers and guests of the Book Fair Department, and ensure that the Team Members are trained and equipped well for the different positions;
• Ensure that the ministry and vision on the Visitor Deck is monitored, evaluated and developed continually, so that the ministry appropriate in every port context and the ministry goals are achieved;
• Oversee and ensure that crowd management assistance and security is provided in each port in consultation with the Security Officer, according to the correct Book Fair guidelines.;
• Obtain a maximum profit whilst keeping to the overall ministry objectives, and analyze the port sales and maximize demand/supply;
• Ensure that adequate marketing and advertising takes place in each port in consultation with the LU Team, and take initiative if it is in adequate;
• Ensure that all Book Fair database systems and inventory of products are kept up-to-date, and ensure the rolling / end of the year stock take takes place;
• Purchase local languages books and non-book items, in consultation with the Literature Director onshore;
• Ensure that correct financial ethics and procedures are executed at all times;
• Ensure that inter-departmental and divisional communication takes places, and maintain good communication with the Literature Director onshore, in order to effectively operate the Book Fair Department;
• Ensure that all the Book Fair, Hope Experience and Book Hold equipment, resources and materials are maintained, kept up-to-date and purchased, when needed;
• Assist the other Team Members of the Book Fair Department with the necessary tasks and responsibilities where needed.
Essential requirements:
• Work experience in the Book Fair or in the area of Literature Management
• Team Leadership skills and experience
• Computer / Administrative skills
• Spiritual maturity
