OM Norway is looking for an Evangelist to help share Jesus with immigrants and refugees in Kristiansand - especially people from Syria, Turkey, Afghanistan, Somalia, Iran, Iraq, and Ukraine. If you love Jesus, love people, and long to see the Gospel heard where it is least known, this role could be for you.
About the role
As Evangelist, you will serve on OM Norway’s local team, focusing on relational outreach among immigrants and refugees. You will meet people where they are - homes, cafes, and community spaces - offering friendship, practical help, prayer, and clear Gospel conversations. We especially welcome applicants with roots in Syria, Turkey, Afghanistan, Somalia, Iran, Iraq, or Ukraine, or with experience serving among these communities.
Local ministry involvement
OM Norway engages in local outreach among immigrants and refugees through language school, language cafes, Discovery Bible Studies, and prayer meetings. We also host monthly gatherings in our homes where people from different backgrounds can ask questions, explore faith, and experience Christian community.
Key responsibilities
· Build trusting relationships with immigrants and refugees in Kristiansand and the surrounding area.
· Share the Gospel clearly and respectfully in everyday conversations, hospitality, and practical service.
· Help facilitate discovery-style Bible reading and seeker groups, and follow up with people who want to learn more.
· Disciple new believers one-to-one and in small groups, helping them grow in prayer, Scripture, and obedience to Jesus.
· Work in partnership with our church plant and other local churches to create welcoming pathways into Christian fellowship and community.
· Mobilise and equip volunteers for outreach, hospitality, and prayer.
· Pray with and for people you meet, cultivating a life of intercession and dependence on the Holy Spirit.
· Uphold confidentiality, safeguarding, and healthy team rhythms, and communicate ministry updates to OM Norway leadership.
Qualifications
· Born again, with a living relationship with Jesus Christ and a growing Christlike character.
· A sense of calling to Gospel ministry and disciple making.
· Experience serving within church or outreach ministries (formal or informal).
· Strong relational and communication skills; able to listen well and build trust across cultures.
· Respectful of culture and eager to learn, especially when working among Muslim-background communities.
· A team worker - flexible, adaptable, and teachable - with perseverance for pioneering ministry.
· A sending church that approves of and supports your ministry; good health; willing to raise financial support.

· Love Jesus and want others to know Him.
· Have a heart for the least reached in Norway and for people far from church.
· Enjoy meeting new people, creating welcoming spaces, and answering honest questions about faith.
· Are willing to learn the Norwegian language and culture, and to work patiently over time.
· Are ready to commit full-time for at least 1 year in Kristiansand.
