Thanks to its strategic position on the Strait of Gibraltar, this city in southern Spain is the port with the biggest flow of people between Europe and Africa. This has resulted in a city with a lot of cultural diversity. For this reason, the OM team in this city are involved in different ministry areas, mainly among Spaniards and Arabs, and also with some other smaller cultural groups. Depending on the time of year you could participate with the local Spanish church, with immigrants, church planting activities, with kids and evangelism.
We offer an overview of a multicultural ministry by participating in a practical way in diverse areas while learning tools for ministry among the least reached.
You will be involved in activities such as giving out scriptures and other gospel resources to North Africans in the port area (clear guidance will be given on appropriate behavior and clothing in this Muslim context), prayer walking in the city, visiting a local Spanish church.
You will receive training from people with extensive experience of working with Muslims and Spaniards.
You will share with the OM team in this city and learn more about cross cultural missions.
Teaching, fellowship and prayer will be in English, Spanish and perhaps other languages, with ongoing translation whenever possible.
You will probably travel to Ceuta to visit some of the ministries that are working with immigrants and locals in that city.
This work is done in conjunction with other ministries that work in the area.
You will be involved in the work the team is doing in different areas in the city among Spaniards and Arabs.
