Mike & Sunny serve as Artist Mentors for Inspiro Arts Alliance, a catalytic ministry of Operation Mobilization. They are both Ethnodoxologists, researching Persian/Afghan local music to serve the Afghan diaspora church, enabling them to worship Jesus' name through their own expressions.
Mike holds a Master of Divinity from McMaster Divinity College (2022). He taught Worship and the Gospel of John at the Afghan Bible College and sits on the Advisory Council for the Global Ethnodoxology Network.
Sunny is currently studying the Pastoral Care & Counselling-MTS program at McMaster Divinity College. They married in 1998 and have three adult children: Dave (25), Josh (23), and Sarah (20) by 2025.
Mike & Sunny are both professional music producers, composers, music professors, videographers, and Artist Mentors. Before entering full-time ministry they experienced early success in the music industry as K-pop artists in 1999. As they discovered God's calling they became deeply engaged in ministry to Afghanistan, living in Kabul from 2003 to 2008, and have continued serving faithfully in Canada.
What Mike & Sunny are passionate about:
Mike & Sunny lead the AFG Worship project at Inspiro Arts Alliance, mentoring young Afghan church leaders, and produce a weekly Worship TV series for Afghan believers worldwide in partnership with Sat7Pars. Additionally, the AFG worship project reaches out to hundreds of thousands of Afghans through Afghan worship music on Facebook and Instagram.
